The 2008 financial crisis, also known as the U.S. Subprime Mortgage crisis, is considered by many economists to be the most perilous crisis faced by the modern day world economy since the 1930s Great Depression (Krugman, 2009). The collapse of Lehmann brothers, one of the world’s leading investment banks before declaring bankruptcy, in September 2008 almost took down the world’s financial system. Many factors such as U.S. Home ownership policies, consequential securitisation, irresponsible lending by banks, deregulations of banks were pointed out as major contributing factors that precipitated the financial crisis. These loans will subsequently be issued as securities, such as mortgaged-back securities, that are tied to the fund’s assets to investors, which can also be known as collateralized debt obligations (CDO) (Choudhry and Baig, 2013). CDO, which initially began with corporate forms of debts, were highly favoured by banks as the process of securitisation and selling on would allow more capital to be freed up to facilitate more future lending (Lanchester, 2010). Securitisation first emerged during the 1980s as investment banks attempt to turn the loans on their books into bonds and sell the bonds into the institutional investor market. The process usually involves the setting up of a new company, known as Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), by the bank, which will be typically based in a tax haven, and the bank will subsequently sell its loans to the SPV. The SPV then repackages the loans into interest-bearing tradable securities and issue it to investors. Revenues received will be later on passed through to the bank as the purchase price for the loans. The interest the bank receives on these loans it passes back to the SPV to pay the investors (Choudhry and Baig, 2013). This visit was quite different then how the narrator believed it would be. The narrator explained the â€Å"insufferable gloom† he felt when he saw the mansion, and this dreary feeling only grew stronger the longer he stayed (Poe 1265). The narrator endured the bleak time with his old friend whose condition only worsened. Roderick’s sister was ill as well and eventually died. They buried her in the basement only to have her crawl out alive days later. This shock scared Roderick to death while the sister’s illness finally took her life. The narrator ran out of the mansion completely unnerved as the House of Usher crumbled to the ground. The opening line portrays the setting of the story as a â€Å"dull, dark, and soundless day in the autumn of the year, when the clouds hung o ppressively low in the heavens† (Poe 1265). Besides this sentence, the reader doesn’t really get a strong sense of where and when the story is taking place. When a 4 year old boy asked to catch a ball so that observations on his running skills can be made. He was using both of his hands driving out all the force, took a ball and bounced it on the ground. A boy of 3 years, he was also unable to catch when a ball had been thrown at him, but he tried and was concentrated when the ball was coming to him. He kicked the ball when it fell down the ground and also tried to throw it overhand (Stipek Byler, 2004). He was comfortable with a squishy ball, but a size smaller than the beach ball. A 4 year old child hopped, skipped and jumped forward towards the ball and tramped the ball and balanced on one foot for 10 seconds. He seemed to be most comfortable in catching a soccer ball of size 3. A 5 year old boy was more focused on the ball while it was coming to him. He used both of his hands for catching and was successful in his task. He wrapped the ball around both of his hands and cradled it to his chest.
